Bantou Food is a mobile platform founded by Angelle that celebrates African culinary heritage. The app curates authentic recipes by country and cuisine, provides step-by-step cooking guidance with rich media, and helps users find nearby restaurants serving African dishes.
There was a gap for a modern, high-performance mobile experience dedicated to African cuisine—one that could scale content, support bilingual audiences, and deliver reliable media on variable mobile networks. This was an opportunity to build a robust, cloud-native platform that blends cultural authenticity with everyday usability.
Content and media needed to be delivered quickly and consistently across devices; taxonomy had to stay coherent across many countries and languages; and editorial workflows required a secure, low-friction path to publish new recipes and restaurants without developer involvement.
